This 3D wall art installation is made up of separate elements with a flat base on each so that you can make up your own design at home. You can position the pieces in any way you like.
The 3-dimensional elements cast subtle shadows depending on where the light hits the pods. This means that the artwork changes slightly as the light changes throughout the day. This adds an interesting additional element.
This listing includes 60 individual pieces. These can be hung on the wall with a small nail. Each element has a hole in the back that will sit over the nail and hang flush against the wall. They are also scored and can be glued with a plumber's glue that adheres plastic piping.
SIZE:
Largest pod measures 5 cms
Smallest measures 1 cm
° In a set of 60, you get 1 x 5 cm pod and then they gradually diminish in size.
60 pods = approx. 85 x 50 cms (28" x 20")
120 pods = approx. 140 x 60 cms (55" x 24")
180 pods = approx. 210 x 70 cms (83" x 23")
° based on how they are hanging in the images
If you need more or less pods, please just ask.
COLORS:
Choose your color from the drop-down menu. Please note that colors will vary a little due to individual computer monitor calibrations. If an exact color is needed, then I recommend that you order a sample set available here: https://cathysavelspaintings.etsy.com/listing/1563962941
MATERIALS: clay, paint
PROCESS:
First the clay has to be conditioned. Each pod is then meticulously sculpted by hand and then fired. If there are flaws after firing, sometimes they need to be further sculpted and then fired again. After this they are sanded to a fine grit. Only then can the centers be painted with 3 coats of metallic acrylic paint and then they are polished with a fine wax.
